worship service schedule

St. James UMC has worship services in two styles over three services each Sunday morning. Our traditional style worship is held at 8:30 and 11:15 each week in the Sanctuary.
our nontraditional worship service, is held on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in Carson Hall. Click on either style of worship to learn more about those services!

Nursery care is offered throughout Sunday morning for infants and children through age 3. Our nurseries are staffed both with paid staff and church member volunteers each week.

Holy Week and Easter

Sunday, April 14 Palm Sunday

The greenery of the palms will take us to the road into Jerusalem when the world's treasure entered the city. Come for 8:30, 9:30 and 11:15 worship!

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 pm in Carson Hall and outside. Come, rain or shine, to enjoy the message of Easter and to participate in the Easter Egg hunt!

Wednesday, April 17 Wednesday worship, 6:00 to 6:30PM

Come for this mid-week refresher as we share prayer, music, message and communion. Our speaker this day will be Scott Payne.

Thursday, April 18 Maundy Thursday Worship, 7:00 PM

We share worship each year on Maundy Thursday with Trinity Presbyterian Church, and service this year will be held at St. James! Rev. David Huffman, pastor of Trinity, will preach; we will celebrate Holy Communion; and we will have a special addition this year, with the combined music departments sharing the Tenebrae work, Who Is Jesus?, by Joel Raney! This beautiful and moving musical presentation will lead us into the completion of Holy Week and toward the resurrection. Please bring many neighbors and friends for this amazing evening of worship.

Child care will be provided for those too young to enjoy worship.

We will enjoy fellowship time in Carson Hall following worship. All of the St. James family are asked to bring a snack to share as we host Trinity.

Friday, April 19 Good Friday Worship, 7:00PM

We will gather in the Sanctuary for a 30-minute time of music, silence, scripture, and reflection. This Taizé form of worship is designed to draw us closer to Christ, opening our hearts and minds to what God would say to us. We are invited to come and experience this unique style of worship together!

Child care will be provided for those too young to enjoy worship.

Saturday, April 20 Prayer Vigil, 11:00AM to 1:00PM

This lovely tradition of St. James gives each of us the opportunity to spend time in White Chapel in personal, individual prayer. Prayer guides will be available for those who desire them. This is a come as you will event - come for 10 minutes or two hours. Just come and pray
